We're getting married

Tyra and Alex first met at Westfield High School in English class, Tyra was a junior, and Alex was a sophomore. Though they occasionally spoke, their friendship didn’t truly blossom until the following school year. After high school, they kept in touch regularly, often chatting through Skype during their signature “tea talks,” where they’d update each other on life and everything in between. Over time, their connection deepened. Following graduation, their friendship grew stronger as they began spending more time together in person. In the fall of 2022, Alex invited Tyra to a University of Houston football game with a group of friends. Not long after, they both realized their bond had grown beyond friendship. Their first official date was at Zoo Lights, and by January 2023, they were officially a couple. Nearly two years later, in November 2024, Alex brought Tyra back to Zoo Lights, the place where it all began. As they strolled through the twinkling lights, soaking in the magic of the season, they paused near the entrance to talk and people-watch. Then, Alex reached into his jacket pocket, got down on one knee, and asked Tyra to marry him. She joyfully said “yes.” They can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their love story with you on January 17, 2027.
