The Wedding Website of Tyra McCaughan and Keith Wuerstl
If you have any further questions we did not cover below, please feel free to reach out!
Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate "Will NOT Attend" on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. If you have already RSVP'd "Will Attend", but find you will not make it, please notify us as soon as you are aware.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, then they will be listed on your invitation.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Your invitation will include the names of children who are invited. As much as we love your little ones, we have decided to limit our under age guests to children of immediate family.

Question

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

A block of rooms has been reserved at: Holiday Inn Express – Courtenay 310 Hunt Rd, Courtenay, BC V9N 9B8 To access our special rate, please call the hotel directly at 250-898-2210. Rooms must be booked by September 1st to be included in our block.

Question

What If I Have Dietary Restrictions

Answer

Please fill out your dietary restrictions when asked on the RSVP tab above! If you need to add anything further please contact us and we can manually make note of it.

Question

Is The Reception Indoors Or Outdoors?

Answer

The reception and ceremony will be indoors, but depending on the weather, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring a light sweater in case it gets a little chilly inside. We will have a coat rack to collect jackets as you come in. We want everyone to be comfortable as we celebrate!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

NO WHITE at all! Please also avoid pistachio green, as that is the colour of the wedding party. The dress code is semi-formal—no need for a tux (unless you want to!), but a dress shirt and pants would be great. For ladies, no super short dresses & dress pants are totally fine! We just want everyone to look nice while feeling comfortable. If you need further help with the dress code please reach out to us and we can provide you some photo examples.

Question

Will food be served?

Answer

Yes! We have decided to do a buffet-style dinner. The main course options will be: Asian Chicken Thighs, baked with a Robust 5 Spice Sauce Cuban Marinated Pork loin (citrus and garlic) with Mango Salsa Later in the evening, there will be a dessert table to munch on!

Question

Is there drinks?

Answer

Each guest will be provided with 2 drink tickets- these drinks are on us! After you use up your tickets, the bar will become a cash bar.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our professional photographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment for our ceremony.

Question

What is the ittinerary?

Answer

Here’s a rough timeline of our big day! While the schedule may shift slightly, this is the plan: 12:00–12:30 PM: Guest arrival for the ceremony 1:00 PM: Ceremony begins 1:45 PM: Family photos & cocktail hour 4:00 PM: Grand entrance of the newlyweds 5:00 PM: Dinner service begins 5:30 PM: Speeches 6:00 PM: First dances 6:30 PM: Dessert 7:00–11:00 PM: Dance the night away!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We wish we could predict that far ahead, but knowing Vancouver Island, there’s always a high chance of rain! Be prepared for anything, and maybe keep an umbrella or light jacket handy—just in case.

Question

How should I get there?

Answer

For our out-of-town guests, a shuttle will be available to take you from the hotel where we’ve reserved a block of rooms to the venue, and back again after the celebration. Pick-up and drop-off times will be shared closer to the date.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at the reception venue between 12:00 and 12:30 PM, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

Question

Where should I sit?

Answer

For the Ceremony, feel free to sit anywhere that isn't reserved. Upon arrival at the reception, you’ll see a seating chart displayed—just find your name and your assigned table number!

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 1st, 2025 to allow us enough time to get our final numbers.
