Love is Bliss

You heard that right. We matched on Hinge in February of 2022. We chatted constantly, and next thing we knew we were on our way to Ski Sundown for our first date. We picked up Chunky Tomato pizza, put the Protege into first gear and headed to the mountain. The 45min drive there was such a good time that we decided to turn around and do it again! Actually though… because Dustin left all his snowboarding gear back at the apartment. We immediately were comfortable with each other, and conversation was easy. The next day we reached out to each other and wanted to hang out again, and we haven’t really spent a day apart since then (and don’t plan to either).

It was Memorial Day weekend, and we had planned to play a round with our friends Collin, Alyssa and Peter at Chuckster’s Mini Golf - Home of the worlds longest Mini Golf hole - In Hooksett, NH. I didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary. We were just some people in sneakers, trash-talking over who’d win the round. As many of you may know, we take our Mini Golf pretty seriously around here... As we made our way through the course, laughing and competing, we got to a hole that starts up in a fire tower—the aforementioned "longest hole in the world". He told me to go first, so I did, totally focused on beating him (again). When I turned around after my shot, he wasn’t holding his putter anymore—he was on one knee holding my ring. He smiled and quickly asked "Will you marry me?". I was so shocked—in the best way. I said "Are you serious?!?! YES!!" through a big, smiling laugh. I was so excited and happy that I definitely could not focus for the rest of the game. I also could not stop staring at my absolutely gorgeous ring, and still cant. I think he deeeefinitey won that round! Dustin even got a hole in one on the 19th hole, winning a free round of golf. Now every time we pass a mini golf course, we smile—and Chuckster’s will always be the place where we got engaged, in the most us way possible: fun, spontaneous, and totally sweet. We look forward to going back to play every year going forward!
