Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary
A great spot with hiking trails, various bird species and a stone fire pit in a nature preserve with woods and meadows. This is also the spot where Tyler proposed!
Simard-Payne Memorial Park
Take in Lewiston along the Androscoggin River, near the Historic Bates Mill, local shops and restaurants. If you are around Sunday Morning, they have a great Farmer's Market!
Baxter Brewing Co.
Enjoy a local brewery set in the historic Bates Mill. They have plenty of beer options, and great food! Other great breweries near by include; Side by Each (Auburn), Grateful Grain (Monmouth), and Lost Valley Brewing (Auburn). This is where we had our first date!

Take a 30 minute drive to one of the most iconic shopping destinations in Maine--Freeport! Home to the flagship L.L Bean Store and countless other outlets!
Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster Company
You all have come to Maine, or live here, so you must want some lobster! Unless you're the Maierhofer's... who can't stand the smell... The Harraseeket offers great seafood right on the water!
Portland Head Light
For a bit of a further drive, go and take a picture at the Portland Headlight. This spot highlights the beautiful rocky coasts of Maine.
Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park
Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is a five minute drive from the center of Freeport's bustling shopping district, and as visitors approach the park, marshes and open fields provide a tranquil transformation back to nature. Here is also where Maddy and Tyler without training were voluntold to run a 6 mile race. It's a miracle they both finished.
