Hope and Taylor met in May 2023 in Hope's parent's kitchen. A few months before that, Taylor joined a bible study led by Hope's parents Mark and Julie, and he quickly developed a relationship with them. He went to church and the beach with them, or helped Mark with projects around the house. Mark and Julie were careful to tread lightly when mentioning their daughter Hope because they knew they were both fiercely independent and would not want anyone telling them what to do. However, when Hope moved back after graduating they got multiple chances throughout the summer to learn about each other and an easy and comfortable friendship grew. In the fall, after talking with some friends and mentors Taylor asked Hope out to a concert. Pretty quickly, they knew they had something special and spent the next few months making memories, going through life changes, traveling, teaching Hope how to use tools, and teaching Taylor how to surf. In August, while in Hawaii Taylor asked Hope to marry him at Lanikai beach. When Taylor and Hope met, little did they know that they would get to experience a full circle and be married at the house they met in, and now we can't wait to celebrate with our favorite people in a place that's special to us!
