Our friendship began in seventh grade when Tyler transfered to Village Christian. We were friends all through middle school, best friends through high school, and occasionaly talked to each other in College since Paige went to Grand Canyon University in Arizona and Tyler went to Aurora University in Illinois. After college we started hanging out again on a weekly basis with our close friend group and after rekindiling our friendship, one thing turned to another, we began to give dating a try, and the rest is history.
Paige: Ever since Tyler and I started dating, I knew without doubt he was the one I wanted to marry. Growing up I was told so many times that theres a high chance that the man I would marry was somebody I already knew. I never thought it would be Tyler after knowing each-other so long. We had always talked about marriage and when we would want to do so, so I knew he would be proposing soon, but did not know when or how. Tyler is known for surprising me and I had no idea he would be proposing during our family trip in Oregon. There were many hints dropped that I never picked up on. Of course I was in a terrible mood after being woken up from a nap so we could "take a family picture". "Should I change?" I asked Tyler as I was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. I was then told to change 3 times by different people, I should've known then as I questioned why everyone was telling me to dress better. "But we're camping!? Why do I need to dress better?" was my response. I showed up to the beautiful scenery at Diamond Lake when I was informed my shirt was on backwards. I put on a sweater to take this "family picture". When I turned around and saw Tyler on one knee, I was overwhelmed with happiness. With happy tears in my eyes I said yes! Tyler: I knew Paige was the one and I knew when I was going to do it, I just needed to figure out how and where. After a ton of secretive planning and making sure all the family was going to be present on the family camping trip to Oregon, I needed to pick the perfect location to ask Paige the most important question of my life. After one look at the dock at Diamond Lake during sunset on Thursday evening, I knew this was where I wanted to to do it. The next day, with some help, I was able to get the family together at the dock for a “Family photo” and that is when I took Paige down to the end of the dock to ask her to marry me.
