In April 2024, God brought Tyler and me into the same church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church. I had no idea, then, how much our paths would align. Though we exchanged glances across the pews for months, our first real encounter didn't happen until April 2025—after that, we became inseparable. That evening, I invited Tyler to our young adults group. I mostly wanted to get to know him, though by the end, I still found myself curious—so many conversations were buzzing around us, none quite as compelling as the one we might start someday. On May 3rd, Tyler asked me out on that first date. The details are our cherished memories now, but here’s what I remember most vividly: few people have ever made being present feel so effortless. Tyler loves to lose himself in nature, always on the lookout for a small wonder. That made our time together feel like an authentic adventure. Later, after a long trail walk in Massena, I dared him to chase the sunset in his Jeep. Time slipped away, but when we reached Wilson Hill, the sky was frozen in the most stunning pink hue—I mean, it felt suspended in time. It’s one of those “you had to be there moments,” but truly, I've never dreamed of a more perfect date. We’ve had countless conversations since then—rich talks about finances, dreams of children, our way of life. But what I’m most grateful for is that our shared worldview always centers Christ above all. Tyler and I choose each other every day. We choose love, sacrifice, and to follow God together, wherever He leads.
