Tyler and Candice met through mutual friends. Tyler first saw Candice while passing through her office heading to the gym. With a few more pass by's and one stop in for a brief conversation, which Candice claims to not remember. Tyler knew he was interested. On a night out with a group of mutual friends, Tyler made his move. While in mid conversation with girl friends, Tyler walked through and sparked up a conversation that led them to be inseparable.
As direct and to the point that Candice can be. On date number two she popped the "kid" question. At a beautiful dinner by the ocean Candice brought up wanting a basketball team of kids. She looked over to Tyler and asked how many kids he wanted with a huge smile on her face thinking he would say a similar number and this conversation would open the door to baby names by the end of the night. Well, Tyler didn’t hesitate to say, "you know the world’s over populated." With a long pause and not knowing how to continue the conversation, Candice wrapped up dinner and ended things with Tyler. With a few ignored calls and messages over the next couple weeks Candice agreed to meet for dinner and talk about what’s on her mind. At the “make up dinner" Candice explained how you don’t tell a girl who just said she wants 5 plus kids that the world is over populated. Tyler chuckled and said "maybe one?" By the end of dinner they agreed on three and rekindled their relationship.
A year ago Tyler asked Candice what her ideal proposal was and she said “in front of family.” July 2018 was a busy month filled with a wedding and numerous birthdays, a perfect time for Tyler. Lorie and Tyler where planning the perfect proposal during the Yatooma family reunion in Cape Cod. The morning of Lorie let Candice know a photographer will be coming by in the evening to do family photos during dinner and cake cutting since we didn’t have enough taken at the family wedding. Candice nodded and continued to get ready for a day out on the water. The day of the proposal consisted of renting boats, cruising around the cape, docking at beach hotel for some lunch and fun in the sun. Tyler showed no sign of nervousness throughout the day. 5 o’clock came around, Dolma and Tabouli was ready and the photographer showed up. He started grouping the families up and doing individual photos and one final one with grandma. The photographer stayed through dinner and kept taking pictures. Since there are a few birthdays in July its tradition to have cakes out for everyone. When the birthday song was over it was time to cut the cake. Candice drover her knife into the middle of the cake getting her knife stuck and ended up lifting the entire cake thinking it was frozen. As she re cut and pulled a slice out, Tyler was scooting in right behind her and grabbed a box that was hidden inside the cake. Tyler dropped to one knee as they both where in tears and asked her to marry him. Little did she know the photographer was there for her and a photo shoot was set up for the two of them right after.
