No! There is no expectation of any wedding gifts. Your presence is the gift! Plus, we couldn't lug anything back to New York with us.
No, dress comfortably! This is an activity filled vacation, not a formal gathering. Make sure to bring some good walking sneakers to hit the town, and a bathing suit!
Sure! Make a greater trip out of it or just come for the weekend! We understand that everyone has their own busy schedules and travel requirements so we are grateful to spend whatever time with yall that we can.
McGhee Tyson (TYS) in Knoxville is the nearest airport to Gatlinburg. The only alternate option is the Nashville International Airport (BNA), which may be a cheaper flight though it's a roughly 4-hour drive to Gatlinburg.
Roughly a 1-hour drive. If you rent a car there will be parking spots at the hotel (for family) and limited parking at the Cabin (for friends).
We are looking into accommodations for transportation at this time. Ubers/Lyfts and other taxis are very limited in the area. If needed, book a ride in advance to ensure you will have transportation upon arrival. Please let us know if you plan to rent a car for the duration of the trip. We encourage those traveling together to carpool.
There is daily parking available on the Gatlinburg strip, though mostly through public lots for a small fee. Those staying at the Edgewater or adjacent hotels will be able to walk to all Gatlinburg attractions. The Pigeon Forge area is less walkable so a vehicle will be required to get to attractions, which typically have their own free parking lots.
No! You are welcome to enjoy Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge at your leisure. The only time your attendance will be requested is at our Mountain Reunion on the evening of Saturday, September 14th. More info on the Schedule page!
Yes, while we are hoping for beautiful weather there is still plenty to do in Gatlinburg should it be rainy.
There's a good chance you could encounter a black bear on the hiking trails! They may look scary, but they're far more scared of you. Though if you see a black bear mama with her cubs you must keep your distance and avoid them by backing away slowly. If you have more questions about black bear encounters ask Jason!
