We were graduate students in Mathematics at Michigan State University at the same time, and we had offices next to each other. Over a million coffee breaks enabling each other's procrastination and week after week beers on Thursday nights at Beggars Banquet, we became partners for life.
We had many discussions about getting married all year through 2019, and after a year of successfully surviving long distance, we decided it was a good idea to sign some papers. To mark our 'engagement', we went hiking in Sleepy Hollow State Park, chose a beautiful spot near a fallen tree, and exchanged some meaningful gifts to symbolise our long term commitment towards each other and our relationship. We picked 8 August because at least one half of us thinks this way we won't argue about how to write the date of our engagement. The other half of us thinks the American date system is stupid.
There are so many people who love and inspire us every day and have been a part of our journey as individuals and as a couple. It gives us no greater joy than to have you come celebrate with us on this day of our wedding at the Michigan State University Horticultural Gardens, as we take part in some beautiful and fun rituals from both of our rich cultures.
