FAQs

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

This is probably the most frequently asked question! In short, we welcome everyone to wear whatever formal wear (Western or Desi/Indian) you feel most comfortable in! We want our wedding to be a colorful and diverse celebration. If you are interested in purchasing any desi/Indian clothing, see below at some recommendations we have. Trisha and Tyler will be wearing a mix of both throughout the day!

Question

Where do I buy Desi/Indian clothes?

Answer

There are a number of options and you don't need to travel far! Online retailers include: houseofindya.com, indianweddingsaree.com, kalkifashion.com, and lashkaraa.com. Many of these websites will ask for exact measurements for tailored outfits. They can take up to a month to ship since most are shipping from India, so be aware and buy in advance! Another option is shopping in person, as many major cities now have Indian clothing stores. If you need help finding somewhere to go, feel free to reach out to Trisha!

Question

Okay I want to wear Indian clothes but there are so many options! What do I buy?

Answer

For women, I would recommend fancy Salwar Kameez (usually a long top with pant bottoms) or a Lehenga (blouse with skirt). If you're feeling adventurous, Saris/sarees are also traditionally worn at many Indian weddings, but these are a little more difficult to put on. A few of the websites I listed before also offer "pre-stitched" sarees which are much easier to wear and can be a great option too! For men, Kurta sets (long top with pant bottoms) are the way to go! These can have additional vests or jackets if you'd like. Again if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Trisha!

Question

What should I bring for a gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is enough of a gift! If you still would like to gift us something, please look to the registry where we have an array of cash funds you can contribute to. We kindly ask for no boxed gifts.
