Tyler and Tatum first met when they were 15 years old, thanks to a little teenage rebellion that involved friends, laughter, and a spontaneous lake jump. Although they attended different high schools, their friend groups quickly became close and spent most weekends together. Not long after, Tyler took Tatum on their first date—mini golfing at 16. While the talking stage eventually fizzled and life led them in different directions, there was always something pulling them back together—an invisible string that showed up in the form of run-ins, school dances and trips to mission beach. Years later, college brought them back together again—this time at a night out with friends that changed everything. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Weekend visits to NAU turned into a life built side by side: quarantining together, encouraging each other through demanding programs and early careers, and taking snowboarding trips whenever they could. On New Year’s Eve 2024, surrounded by the magic of Banff, Canada, Tyler asked Tatum to marry him—and it was the easiest yes. Since then, they’ve been travel nursing across the country, planning their wedding, and soaking up this incredibly special season of life. Some love stories are meant to come full circle.
