How We Met

June 2014

While in college, Stephanie worked at a legendary bar named Wild Bill’s Longbar in Cheney, Washington for a couple of years. One night, Ty showed up to be a part of our Bill's crew and Stephanie was already blushing. Naturally, we started to flirt as coworkers and with a little help from our match maker friend (Chris-thank you!) Ty and I started to bond over many things in our lives, discovered we had a lot in common, and became really close friends. One night while Steph was working, Ty came to surprise her with a really big hug and kiss on the forehead (that was the first time haha) then Tyler had asked Stephanie out for a Sushi date and of course she said yes! The rest has been in the making.

The Proposal

4.29.2021

On our 6th anniversary, Tyler planned a small picnic to Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley. Stephanie came home from work later than normal that evening and mentioned to Tyler, “I’m a little tired, would you like to celebrate our anniversary this weekend instead? We can eat here if you’d like?” Tyler responded with, “Nope! Let’s go tonight!” So we did. The sun was starting to set at this point (and it was going to get cold). We got ready as soon as we could and Tyler drove us to the lake. (It was not the slowest ride on a 2-lane windy road, don’t worry we were safe! As usual.) We urgently walked to the lake (still trying to beat the sunset), took in the view for a few then exchanged and read our anniversary cards! After Steph was done reading her card, she noticed Tyler was acting different (silent, which was weird), then did a backward lunge (at this point, Steph knew it wasn’t just a lunge) and pulled out a ring and Tyler proposed. Of course, she said YES! Here we are. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with all of you. See you in Clayton!!

Xena Warrior Princess

First comes love, then comes Xena! 7.5.2022

I couldn't create this without involving her. She IS the queen of the land you know, or at least that's what she thinks! Xena Warrior Princess came to live with us when she was just a baby. She is a Miniature Australian Shepherd with one blue eye! I'm still so amazed with how cool that is! She has been the highlight of our lives the last 2 years and has brought so much joy in our world. Having Xena has essentially started us a tiny family and we are so grateful for it! She will be 2 years old when you all get to meet her! She LOVES attention, playing frisbee, belly rubs, and is very good at barking at squirrels. Make sure to say hi to the princess because she will definitely come say hi to you!
