Abbi is my future sister-in-law and basically the definition of brilliant and cool. She studies quantum physics out in Colorado and snowboards whenever she’s not unraveling the mysteries of the universe. She has gone above and beyond welcoming me into the Gillespie family.

Ari and I ran together, and she’s still the fastest woman I know! She’s from Pewaukee and somehow manages to coach running while being a total sales superstar. Ari is super sweet and always the life of the party.

Jill, from Port Washington, is a history teacher by day and a 10K phenom by weekend. She’s the kind of friend who pushes me to be better — whether we’re racing cross country or just navigating life.

Paige is from Slinger, Wisconsin, and is always the first to crack a joke and the first to offer a kind word. We ran the 800 meters together in college and she’s been keeping my spirits up (and my pace up!) ever since.

Roxanne grew up in Illinois, but fate brought us both to UW-Whitewater — two transfer students who somehow ended up running the same race. She’s an amazing artist, a wonderful friend, and the perfect blend of creative and caring.
