A fun place to check out some wildlife. Little to no walking required if you want. About a 50 minute drive south from Anchorage.
Multiple, easy trails from the nature center about 30 minutes north of Anchorage.
Multiple easy trails, frisbee golf course, soccer fields, bike-friendly trails, etc. You can almost always see a moose if you walk on the trails there, so keep an eye out! This is in west Anchorage, about 15 or 20 minutes from most parts of town.
Easy, paved trail you can catch throughout town that goes on for several miles. We like to park by Westchester Lagoon and run from there. Pretty scenery that follows the coast.
This is a trailhead that is easily accessible from town. About 20 minutes from most places in town, it offers pretty easy, flat hikes, and some more challenging hikes up mountains. Common trails and peaks include Powerline Pass, Flattop, Blueberry hill, and Little O'Malley. Bonus fact, we had our first date at the overlook by the parking lot there!
Cool museum in downtown Anchorage with information on art, history, ethnography, ecology, and science in Alaska.
Easy-to-get-to trails for a run, hike, or bike.
A quick, relatively flat hike out to a glacier along the Seward Highway. Bonus: it's beautiful drive down there.
Fun, local ice cream spot with lots of unusual flavors!
Some of the best bread and baked goods in town! Although if all goes well, this will be our dessert for our party, so you can try it then : )
It's listed as "New American Food", but also has fun cocktails, a little coffee shop, and more.
One of Tyler's favorite burger joints - they have "gourmet burgers", but a casual vibe.
One of Tyler's favorite restaurants, with elevated comfort/bar food.
They sell one thing and one thing only: Russian dumplings. We would encourage getting all the toppings!
One of Sara's favorite restaurants, it has all kinda of Ethiopian foods.
