Red Rocks is an iconic concert venue right outside Golden. There are lots of beautiful views along the road up to the parking lot, and the town of Morrison is also a great spot to walk around or grab lunch.
Boulder is a quirky town located right at the base of the mountains with tons of fun activities. Some spots we recommend checking out are the Pearl Street Mall, Chautauqua park, and local restaurants like Folsom Thai, Wapos, or The Dushanbe Tea House.
Rocky Mountain National Park is about an hour and a half otuside of Golden, but is a great spot for a day trip. The park requires a timed-entry reservation, so make sure to plan ahead if you want to explore this area!
While Colorado isn't exactly known for its barbeque, this spot gives places like Texas and Kansas City a run for their money. They're only open Friday and Saturday mornings, but if you can manage to try it out, we highly recommend it.
For those who want to get immersed in Colorado's nature without an intense hike, Eldorado Canyon is a great place to start. The park is about 30 minutes from Golden and has lots of impressive mountain views and jagged cliffs.
Catch a Rockies game at Coors Field! Even though the Rockies aren't the most fun baseball team to watch, their stadium is gorgeous and makes for a perfect summer outing.
North Table Mountain is a great spot right in Golden to explore the rugged landscape of Colorado. There are lots of great hikes and beautiful views from the mountain.
One of our favorite spots in Golden, this Nepalese restaurant is an experience in itself. You'll feel like you're in an actual Sherpa house and get to enjoy some of the best food in town.
Clear creek runs right through the heart of Golden, and it is a great place to spend a summer day. There are opportunities for kayaking, tubing, or just wading in the water.
Breckenridge is one of the closest true mountain towns to Golden--about an hour and a half away. It has a welcoming downtown, a free gondola, and crisp alpine air.
If you're looking for a scenic mountain drive, want to see the gravesite of Buffalo Bill, or want to see the Denver skyline at night, Lookout Mountain is a great way to spend a couple hours.
One great spot in Denver is the art museum. There are always new exhibits going in and an endless supply of beautiful works of art.
This small town pinball arcade has just about every pinball machine you could think of. Be sure to check out Lucky Pie pizza and Sweet Cow ice cream right across the street!
