We spent a wonderful day in San Francisco on New Year's Eve. Tyler let me wander around the city, drove me everywhere I wanted to go, let me take my time in seeing everything I wanted to see, and followed every lead of mine throughout the day. We walked Golden Gate Park, explored the windmills and saw the buffalo, walked the Fisherman's Wharf, and had a cocktail on Pier 39. I should have known something was up when he let me play Pokemon Go all day and didn't say a word! That evening, he suggested we go to a fancy dinner and enjoy our evening together. Post dinner, Tyler and I made our way back to the end of Pier 39. He began to look around, and asked this nice family near us to take a picture of us in front of the heart at the end of the pier. Little did I know he had switched the camera to take a video, gotten down on one knee, and successfully captured the best moment of our lives thus far. Amongst the screaming family telling me to say YES, I tried to remain in the moment and listened to every word he spoke. He could barely get words out because the family videoing us was screaming so loudly and we were laughing hysterically. Eventually, I told him, "You need to say something!" to which Tyler replied, "I'm trying to!" Finally a moment where we stood together, transfixed in time, and the yelling subsided, Tyler asked me to marry him and the rest is history. We cannot wait to begin this new journey together, shared with our beloved friends and families, and love the way it began.
