Tyler was on a work trip in Charleston, South Carolina. I flew out to be with him, we strolled around downtown trying to pass time while we waited to check in at the hotel. After we got checked in, he told me we were going to a park, and I should get ready! We arrived at a beautiful park, Palmetto Islands County Park. We started down the walking path and there were hundreds of little crabs scattering around and I only could focus on that, I was worried because I had open toed shoes one would snip me, I didn’t even notice him being nervous or a ring box shape in his pocket! As we were walking along we noticed there were a bunch of nature themed riddles posted along the pathway so we started trying to solve those and that apparently helped break the nerves for him! We had so much fun trying to guess the answers (turns out we’re not very good at riddles! LOL) When we finally got to the main structure we were there for, we noticed a lady sitting at picnic table, when she noticed us she spoke up, introducing herself and mentioned she does social media and that she’s a photographer! She mentioned how she’s in between clients currently so she asked if we wanted to take a few pictures for her social media accounts as a spontaneous shoot, ive seen post like this on TikTok’s so it seemed normal enough? We agreed and she had us go on the structure, she had us do a few poses and one of them required me to turn my back towards Tyler, when she had me turn back around, he was down on one knee! I was in shock, and also a bit shy with the fact I had a camera in my face. I don’t even think I said yes, lol! The first thing I could think of was “when did you ask my dad?” I wasn’t expecting it at all to happen on this trip, but I couldn’t have thought of a more perfect, beautiful proposal, the stunning views, the fact we have the moment on camera we can forever look back on.
