How We Met

Driveways, Jeeps, and Long Distances

Miah and I have known each other for half of our lives, so it is difficult to pinpoint the exact moment we met - but it isn't hard to remember the first time I developed a crush on her in high school. I can vividly recall the night I drove over to her house and we hung out in her driveway. I remember how gorgeous she was and the butterflies she gave me that night when I first kissed her leaning up against my old red Jeep. Although we didn't start dating during those high school years, there was always a mutual crush that lasted long after. When Miah was in law school in New York, and I was still living in Reno, we reconnected and started to FaceTime one another. It quickly turned into a daily and multi-hour routine. The same spark that we felt so long ago instantly came back and she gave me the same butterflies that I felt nearly a decade before. Even though we had a long distance relationship at the start, we connected on such a deep level and it was evident early on that we shared a love that would result in us being together forever!

Our Engagement Story

“Engagement Ring, Please be Discreet”

Tyler asked me to marry him in Cancún, Mexico on our first international trip together! We left Denver at 2:30am to make the most of our first day in Mexico and arrived completely exhausted, but so grateful to be in such a beautiful place. We were in Cancún for only a couple hours before he couldn’t wait any longer and he asked me to walk down by the beach. Almost immediately after hitting the sand, he said he wanted a photo together and asked a sweet couple to take our photo and let them in on the secret of his plan! We walked over to the water and snuggled in close when he turned to me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried happy tears and told him “Yes!” no less than 100 hundred times. One of my favorite parts of our “engagement story” actually came many months after he proposed. I found a post it note that he packed in his backpack which read “Engagement Ring, Please be Discreet!!!” in case any TSA officer looked through his bag when I was around. He truly thought of everything and made this day one of the most special days of my life. I cannot wait to finally marry this man!
