Travel Note
We do not recommend renting a car for the weekend unless you plan to do additional travel outside of the city. Everything is easily accessible with public transit, Uber (or self-driving Waymo!), bikes, walking, scootering, roller blading ... take your pick! For the ceremony: There are 2 entrances to SFBG in Golden Gate Park. We recommend you use the main one by 9th Avenue and Lincoln (conveniently located next to Tartine Inner Sunset). This entrance is closer to the ceremony location. Entrance to the botanical garden is free for wedding guests. We do not recommend driving as parking and traffic will be a struggle. It is best to use Uber or Muni (N-Judah street car comes straight from downtown, or 7-Haight Noriega). You can get a Clipper card on your phone using the Wallet app :D For the reception: Swedish American Hall has limited parking. It's a 15-minute car ride from the ceremony or about the same length ride on the wonderful N-Judah line.
Travel Note
(Work in Progress) We've included a list of suggested hotels, but feel free to book wherever you like. Many SF hotels are concentrated around Union Square, which is a bit touristy and near some of the seedier parts of town. We think this is a significant reason why some tourists get a bad impression of the city, to be honest. The hotels below are all located in non-Union Square neighborhoods that are safe and interesting (in our opinion). Airbnb/VRBO also offer lodging in a wider variety of neighborhoods.

Can't go wrong with the Fairmont. Stay above the infamous Tonga Room tiki bar, on a big hill north of Union Square ~$360/night
Hotel
No frills, in a great location -- 1 block from the reception, in the middle of Castro, Mission, Duboce Triangle neighborhoods. An excellent affordable option, particularly if you will have a car since parking is included. We have 10 rooms reserved here Thursday - Sunday (Superior Double Queen and King Deluxe) which should be on the backside of the property (quieter side). No pressure to book here as we are not on the hook for them. Guests may call (415-621-8212), email (Info@BecksMotorLodge.com) and mention the group name in the "comments and special requests". Rooms may not show up as publicly available on the website. ~$220/night
