The story of how we met is one of our favorite stories, especially Tyler's. At the beginning of covid I was stationed at Camp Pendleton preparing for a deployment. A group of us were getting together at a friend’s house later that night. Maddy had spent the day with a mutual friend of ours that I had invited to the party. A video with Maddy in it was posted on social media. After seeing the video, I told the mutual friend of ours that she was not allowed to come over unless she brought “the hot girl in the red shirt” from the video. Once Maddy arrived at the house I challenged Maddy to a game of beer pong and quickly learned I was out of my league. For the rest of the night, I made sure that Maddy was my beer pong partner, not only to keep me from getting embarrassed again, but also gave me a reason to talk to “the hot girl in the red shirt.” After an undefeated night of beer pong and awkward flirting (by me). Maddy asked for my number and told me I had to get approval from her dad so I could take her on a proper date. The rest is history.
