There ARE Ubers but this is not NYC - can take a while to arrive and get one. We definitely recommend a rental car if you’re planning trips outside of Whitefish, to Glacier National Park especially. Kevin Smith is a local taxi driver, give him a call and name drop Karen Sweetapple if you’re looking for a taxi service. +1 (406) 609-7272
Glacier National Park is bear country. Carry bear spray on hikes, make noise on the trail, and give wildlife plenty of space. Please never approach bears, moose, mountain goats, or other wildlife for photos.
Please Note: Going-to-the-Sun Road is often only partially open in early summer due to snow removal. During this period, the alpine sections of the road may be accessible only to hikers and cyclists before opening to vehicle traffic later in the season. If Going-to-the-Sun Road is still closed to vehicles, renting bikes and riding the road car-free is an unforgettable Glacier experience and one of the best ways to experience the park.
