Regretfully, I won't be able to come. How can I still feel like I am a part of the wedding?

Can I park somewhere other than the hotel?

Answer

Yes, a parking garage is located adjacent to the Shade Hotel. The address is: 1214 N Morningside Dr, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. The lower level offers all-day metered parking.

Is smoking allowed on the premises?

Answer

Smoking is prohibited on both The Neighborhood Church & Shade Hotel property.

How much does it cost to valet at the hotel where the reception is being held?

Answer

$16 for guests not staying at the Shade Hotel. If you are staying at The Ayres Hotel, we recommend taking advantage of the free parking and Uber-ing to the reception.

What are the benefits of booking at The Shade Hotel?

Answer

The reception is located at this hotel. Special amenities are included. It is walking distance to the Manhattan Beach pier, downtown shopping, and the strand. Also, your morning-after breakfast is included with the newlyweds!

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We would love to enjoy your presence without any worries! Unless they are a part of the wedding party, kids are not allowed.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

No, there is no dress code. We recommend beachy formal/dressy casual attire.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Average temperatures in Manhattan Beach vary somewhat. Considering humidity, temperatures feel very enjoyable all year with a very low chance of rain throughout the year. August highs will be in the 70s-80s during the day and 60s-70s degrees during the nighttime.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors. The reception will have an open terrace. The dance floor is located on the Sky Deck which is open to the elements. Both locations are by the beach and guarantee a light breeze.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Please join us for the After Party located in the zinc@shade lounge. If you are feeling tired, please feel free to go back to your accommodations.

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

By invitation only, please join us for the Wedding Rehearsal on 8/28/2020. If you plan on joining us the night before the wedding and are not attending the rehearsal dinner, we would like for you to join us at a restaurant/bar TBD afterwards. Please let the bride or groom know if you are coming early so we can share our itinerary with you! For the day after the wedding, please join us for breakfast (included with Shade Hotel reservations) at zinc@shade at 9am.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking is free at the church and The Ayres Hotel. If you are staying at The Shade Hotel, parking is $30 per night with in and out privileges. The event price (wedding day only) for parking is $16. There is a public parking lot located adjacent to the hotel.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Yes, please visit the Hotel Accomodations tab on our website to see full details for our guest room block located at The Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach. The nightly rate Fri-Sun is $139/night. The weekday rate Mon-Thurs is $179/night. Parking is free for guests. The group rate expires 8/4/2020. The Shade Hotel also offers a discounted rate of $386/night, but this won't last long. Please make sure to book early!

Yes, we are happy to say that there is a vegetarian pasta option for you.

Will transportation be provided to/from the hotel?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation. Uber and Lyft cars are prevalent in the area.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #TyandJesssayYES so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
