We're getting married!

Tyler and I met on New Year’s Eve 2017/2018. I had been hanging out at a friend’s house watching movies with her and her daughter, when her boyfriend jokingly said he was going to invite one of his friends over because that would be “just what I needed”. Little did I know how right he’d be… Tyler came over around 8pm and I was suprised for a few reasons. I was suprised because he’d chosen to leave the bars to come hang out at a house with a 3 year old and a three adults, two of which he didn’t know, on NYE. Not a typical move for a guy his age. I was also suprised that we had more friends in common. We figured out both of our friends were having a baby that night; I knew the mom and Tyler knew the dad. Shout out to Kylie- Jameson was our little icebreaker!😉 Mostly though, I was suprised at how much I instantly liked him. Tyler has a personality that makes everyone in the room laugh and relax, and I needed that. Barely two hours into us meeting, our friends went to bed and left us alone on the couch. Tyler had been drinking so he didn’t want to drive home, and I had already planned on spending the night as well. I awkwardly pretended to sleep and I knew he was doing the same. Until I realized he kept kicking me. I finally sat up and asked him what his issue was, to which he explained (with a bright red face) that he had been “trying to play footsie with me”😂. We then spent the next 12 or so hours talking. By 8am the next morning we were best friends. We ended up spending that day together walking the dogs and getting to know each other even more. The next night he took me out on our first “real” date. He picked me up and met the whole family right off the bat. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and a movie- which is why our engagment pictures are themed with BWW wings and beer. That was his idea since it was our first date meal😊 We decided we might as well start dating since we literally hadn’t stopped talking since the night we met. And now here we are!♥️

August 5th, 2021- 1,313 days as your best friend. 365 days as your fiancé. 72 days until I’m your wife. I love you, Tyler Jacob Maedke♥️ • To anyone who hasn’t heard the story…August 5th, 2020 Tyler got home from work and was acting weird (weirder than he normally does😉). After telling me about his day at work he said “I’m jumping in the shower. Make me a pizza, woman!” and I shot back from the couch with “Maybe if I was your wife I would!”…. cut to 5 mins later when he comes up from the basement holding something. He got down on one knee in our living room (in just his boxers!) with the dogs next to him and said “Now you can be” with the ring. • Turns out he had been planning on proposing that weekend in front of my family, but had been super nervous. He saw the opportunity and took it!🥰 It’s not a traditional proposal; it was a very “Tyler” moment and I love it. • And to Tyler- sorry you still haven’t gotten your pizza…that’ll be the first thing I make as your wife🍕
