We first met through mutual friends in our first year of college, Roll Toms! That fall we were on the same intramural volleyball team and became good friends. Through the rest of the school year, we stayed just friends until Tyler invited me to be his date to the military ball! A few short days later, we went on a real date that his parents weren't at and the rest is history!

My plans for the proposal started to come together in December 2020, when Haley and I went to Chicago for Christmas. It was here that I talked to Haley's parents about my plan to have the proposal be a scavenger hunt around Chicago. Fast forward to May, I'm graduated from school and ready to propose. We were back in Chicago for Haley's birthday so it was time to set the proposal in motion. We followed clues, all written by me, to many of our favorite places like Tre Kronor, the Art Institute, and Eataly. At the end of the day we went to Dawe's Park, where I asked Haley to marry me! Side note, Olivia is really bad at hiding.
