Once upon a time, there were two children. One little boy and one little girl, both in the 2nd grade, who just so happened to be at the same summer camp, at the same time. The little girl thought the little boy was cute. So like all little girls, she picked on him. They soon became friends, but at the end of the summer, they went their separate ways. Little did they know that this was only the beginning of their story... A few years later, the little boy and girl met again in the 6th grade at Madeira Beach Middle. He remembered her, and she remembered him, and their friendship picked up as if the years hadn’t distanced them at all. At the end of the year, their lives would take them in separate directions again, and force them to say goodbye once more. More time passed, our boy and girl found themselves in the 8th grade. This time, it was online, through the newest, biggest, social media phenomenon, known as Myspace that brings them back together. They messaged back and forth, which led to many Friday night hangouts at Astro Skate or Parkside Movies. Then on Feb. 13, 2007, the boy decided that the girl wasn’t so bad, so while they were talking over the phone, he asked her to be his girlfriend. Of course, like all pretty girls do who like cute boys, she said yes. The next day, Valentine’s Day, he gave her a big white teddy bear. Everything was going well for our young couple until one day, the boy found out that he was moving to North Carolina. As hard as it was, the boy and girl would have to say goodbye yet again. Now in 10th grade, the boy and girl were still friends. She went up to visit him in Wilson NC, seeing his parent’s café, ‘Pick a Bowl’. It seemed like the boy still liked the girl, because it was then that he gave her his favorite J Crew jacket. It was her favorite too. Time went by, and our once little boy and girl turned into a handsome young man, and a beautiful young woman. It had been some time since the two had spoken, but fate would change that.
The year was 2014. Our young man was now in the Air Force, stationed in Panama City, and his parents were still living in St. Petersburg. One fateful day, on a trip home, the young man messaged the young woman and asked her to hang out. A walk on the beach, and a movie later, their night had gone perfectly. The young man went back up to Panama, but kept his heart down here with the young woman. This led to the young woman driving all the way from Clearwater, way up to Panama City, to go and see him. After few months, and what seemed like a dozen trips or so later, the young man and woman fell in love. They decided that they couldn’t take being away from one another any more, so the young man asked her to move in with him. The young woman took the biggest risk of her life and ventured off to Panama City to be with the young man. Their relationship and love continued to grow. It didn’t take long for them to add to their family. A beautiful black lab named Wilson. Then, because one is never enough, they decided to have another… and another.. One adorable mutt named Charlotte, and an Australian Shepherd named Jack. Fast forward to 2017, the beautiful young couple finds themselves at a New Year’s Eve party on the USS Yorktown in Charleston, South Carolina. Our handsome young man gets down on one knee and asks the young woman to be his wife. Of course, like all beautiful women who are in love with handsome men do, she said yes. It’s 2018 now, and our young, happy couple is preparing to walk down the aisle, and continue this wonderful fairy tale. If you haven’t figured it out by now, the woman in this story is Haley, and the man, Tyler. Overcoming all odds and obstacles, they’ve made it through together. If you haven’t figured out who your friendly neighborhood narrator is, then it is I, Kyle, the Man of Honor. Now, all that’s left is to meet them on the big day, and help them celebrate the newest chapter of their lives. We’ll see you all soon!
