Grace here - I love telling this story and wanted to share it for those of you that might not know it. Tj and my story began at the same place that I made a lot of my favorite memories growing up... Lakeview Farm. That is where I boarded my horse at the time, with no intentions to meet my future husband. However, Tj started working at Lakeview during the time that he was in school for HVAC. (And actually before then, when he was still in high school. But having a small age gap and me being slightly older, I would like to make note that I did not have my sights set on him at that point and our paths rarely crossed 😂) In August of 2022, I left to spend 4 months studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador. Tj and I had our first interaction two days before I left for Ecuador, and it was a debate about what kind of bugs were crawling on the stall floor. Cute, right? Over the next 4 months, I would occasionally receive pictures of Tj and Digger together. I often showed some of my roommates these pictures and apparently enough that they began to refer to Tj as my "farm boyfriend." My friend would send me these pictures and tell me that "your horse chose your boyfriend." It made me laugh, but I never thought too much of it until the week before I was set to come home. I received a notification that Tj had added me on Snapchat, and sent me a message. I opened it and it said "are you ever coming home?"... how romantic of him 😂 Tj asked me on a date within days of me getting home from Ecuador. And our first date was... a trail ride together. A pretty good move for someone who openly admitted he didn't like horses before he started dating a horse girl. I have to wonder if Digger helped change his mind. Either way, our story unfolded in a way that we would have not expected, but so thankful that God did!
