Things To Do

The Red Hot

The Red Hot

2914 6th Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98406

The Red Hot is our FAVORITE place to eat in Tacoma. They have specialty hot dogs (with many different meat options, and vegetarian dogs as well). They have about 35 different tap options rotating all the time. It is a great place to hang out and get some AMAZING food and drink. Disclaimer: you have to be 21 to enter this establishment, so those with kids will not be able to sit down in here, but you could order some dawgs to go.

Museum of Glass

Museum of Glass

1801 Dock Street, Tacoma, WA 98402

The Museum of Glass is Emily's favorite museum in Downtown Tacoma. But you can also find the Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, LeMay Car Museum, and a few others in downtown Tacoma.

Chambers Creek Regional Park

Chambers Creek Regional Park

4800-4850 Grandview Drive West, University Place, WA 98466

Chambers Bay is just down the street from the venue where we will be getting married. This area has amazing views over the Sound. The park has a large green area and a mostly accessible bridge to look over the beach.

Little Mashel Falls Trailhead

Little Mashel Falls Trailhead

44003 161st Avenue East, Eatonville, WA 98328

We've taken lots of folks to Little Mashel falls. However, if you do just a quick search for hiking or walking trails in the area, you will find many many options. For a harder hike, we recommend Tiger Mountain or PooPoo Point.

Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour

Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour

614 1st Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104

Did you know Seattle is built on top of old Seattle? We didn't, but we sure learned a lot when we went on the underground tour of Seattle with a group of our friends. Please note, you have to be able to navigate small stairs and uneven ground with this adventure.

Space Needle

Space Needle

400 Broad Street, Seattle, WA 98109

Obviously the Space Needle is a classic of Seattle. The price to visit the Space Needle has sky rocketed and you have to reserve a time slot, so be wary. If you plan to do this, we would recommend doing this on a clear day, as the views are spectacular when not shrouded by clouds. If you make the trip up to Seattle, go to Pike Place market then walk up to at least see the Space Needle, even if you aren't going to go into the Space Needle.

Seattle Scavenger Hunt

Seattle Scavenger Hunt

Troll Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103

For anyone looking to do a Seattle Scavenger hunt, you should add the Fremont Troll along with the other newer trolls to your list. Some other items for your Seattle Scavenger hunt could include the gum wall, Pike Place Market (and original Starbucks), and the Space Needle. The link with this option shows a lot of different adventures like scavenger hunts, bar crawls, haunted tours, art walks, etc.

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill

Seattle, WA

For anyone wanting to party it up in Seattle, we recommend going to the bars and clubs in Capitol Hill. You've got to start the night at Hula Hula, a karaoke Tiki Bar (women's bathroom featured in the picture, lol). You have to end your night with a hot dog from one of the many stands you'll see, make sure you get a Seattle Dog, it'll change your hot dog eating forever. Chop Suey is our favorite club to go to, they always have great music.

Leavenworth, WA

Leavenworth, WA

WA

Leavenworth is a Bavarian town in the mountains about 3 or 4 hours from Tacoma. This would be a longer and more involved excursion, but it is a lot of fun. Beware of snow in the pass, this can be a tougher trip if there is snow. If you make this trip, you will find delicious food, good drink, fun shops, and a quaint world tucked in between the mountains.

The Coaster

120 South Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371

WA State Fair themed drinks! Rachel & Sandy are the owners of this restaurant and they make a great team and delicious drinks!
