How do I get to Annecy from the US?

Answer

For travellers coming from the US: the closest international airport is Geneva. There are direct flights to Geneva out of Newark/JFK/DC. From the Geneva airport, you can either rent a car or take public transport to Annecy. It is about a 45 minute drive or 1.5 hours on the train. Another good option is to fly directly to Paris and take the fast train to Annecy (3.5-4 hours). There are many more direct flights to Paris from US cities. If you plan to do other European travel prior to the wedding, Geneva, Annecy, and Lyon (also not far) are also well served by trains and flights from all over Europe.

The accommodations in the area are extremely varied and we want to leave it to our guests to choose what best suits you.

Where should I stay?

Answer

The Ferme de Gy is about 30 minutes from the city of Annecy. We suggest that you stay either in one of the Air Bnbs in the village directly next to the venue or at a hotel or Air Bnb at Lake Annecy. Please refer to the "where to stay" tab for more information".

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We will be looking into providing shuttle access from Annecy to the venue and accommodations near the venue. However, if you think you may want to explore the region of Annecy and Haute Savoie, we would highly recommend renting a car.

How early do I need to book my flights/hotel?

Answer

August is high season for travel to Europe and this is a touristy area. It would be beneficial to book your flights as soon as you know your plans.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We invite you to wear semi-formal attire. For women, short to mid-length gowns in lightweight fabrics. For men a collared shirt and jacket; tie optional. Please kindly avoid jeans, t-shirts, or overly casual clothing.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we kindly ask that invitations be limited to those named on the invite. Your name(s) will be listed on the RSVP. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!
