How We Met

Hi to all our friends and family! We are so excited and grateful to be able to experience this special day with you. One may say that this wedding is spur of the moment, but we did not want to wait any longer to be married and begin this new chapter of our lives together. Tyler and Ellen grew up in the same neighborhood of Park Hill. Their families lived down the street from one another basically their whole lives. Tyler was a grade older than Ellen and were friends with many of the same people but did not really know one another. In their 20s they met at a party and had an instant connection and spark. They dated for a few months and had so much fun but their relationship did not last, they were both young and the timing was off. Fast forward 4 years... Ellen and Tyler reconnected after several years had passed. They again met through their great friend Eddie! That spark was still there even after all that time. They began to date and the relationship was rekindled. Both were now in a very different spot in their lives. Ellen and Tyler have stood by one another through so much and their love only continues to grow.

The Proposal

June 2, 2019

On a beautiful Sunday morning in June, Tyler and Ellen packed up the car with Ellen's son Q and headed for their favorite recreational activity and passion, skiing. Tyler had invited some friends to join. That day there was some tension in the air. Nobody was their usual talkative selves. Tyler and Ellen were riding up to the top of A Basin on the Lenawee Lift and Tyler changed his portable speaker to reggae (Ellen's favorite type of music). Tyler wanted to take a picture at the top of the mountain. He was wearing a red Mexican-style poncho and laid it on the ground. He then proceeded to nervously take off his skis, gloves, and jacket. He got down on one knee and asked, "Can we be ski partners for the rest of our lives?" Ellen was so elated and happy, she really had no words but YES! She has never been so happy, overjoyed, and completely at a loss for words. Every day, this proposal and marriage feels like a dream come true. They cannot wait for the future and all of the skiing, dancing, and life adventures ahead. They could not be more excited or happy.
