Maid of Honor
At the cusp of Grade 9, Andrea had heard of Lisa and was not too sure if they would be friends (maybe it was Lisa's chain necklace?) but that changed pretty much immediately. The BBs have been steadfast from this point on, and have gone through many phases together, including Lisa's transformation into a yoga earth-loving hippie mama. Feel free to strike up a conversation with her about crystals (just never ask her to prescribe a crystal to put under your pillow) or her Tibetan music bowl skills. If Lisa looks hungry from ALL the bridal duties she will be doing (payback for when Andrea was Lisa's Maid of Honour), please feed her kraft dinner, but hold the mustard. Lisa lives in a beautiful lake house near Hanover with her darling husband, Chris, her adorable baby, Henry, and doggo, Doods.
Groomsman
Tyler and Michael met in Grade 9 at Iroquois Ridge High School and the two quickly became friends for life, especially when they got their drivers licenses and could go on many "missions." In university, the two lived off campus together. A notable experience during their higher education was purchasing inflatable lawn ornaments to decorate their living room instead of studying for their impending HR exam. They also put it upon themselves to use up the utility of old appliances by lovingly destroying them. Feel free to chat to Michael about Air Canada's Loyalty Program, his favourite planes, anything related to Buick, and the importance of using sunscreen. Michael lives in Oakville with his beautiful wife, Stephanie, their two girls, Charlotte and Lauren, and their doggo, Riley.
Bridesmaid
Bonnie and Clyde or Cassie and Andrea? We will let you decide. Cassie and Andrea both grew up on the mean streets of Stittsville but became very close when Cassie moved to Toronto for film school and Andrea was starting out at Labatt. These red-lipped, burrito-loving bandits roamed the west side of Toronto for years, retiring to their lair of the Dirty Mansion, which eventually became the Filthy Mansion. Feel free to strike up a conversation about Paul Newman, brunch, art, film, wine or anything from the first half of the century. Cassie is easily distracted by sparkles and glitter so please dress accordingly so she doesn't get distracted and thrown off track while walking down the aisle. Cassie is a true Renaissance woman, now spending her time in Stittsville with her sweet pup, Gracie.
Groomsman
Tyler and Jones met at Wilfrid Laurier University, and became close friends during MLSB (a beer softball league), where they were both captains, and eventually convenors. Later on, when Tyler lived in Waterloo, Jones' place on Dayton Avenue in Etobicoke became Tyler's satellite home slash crash pad when he came into the city. This didn't just last for a couple years. The pad became almost an institution for a better part of a decade. The two have bonded over hours of discussing the benefits of voluntary exchange and free market capitalism, while listening to 80s music. Feel free to strike up a conversation with Jones about his favourite Phil Collins song or American Psycho. Jones, who was a longtime Etobicokian, recently made the move to downtown Toronto, where he lives in CityPlace.
Bridesmaid
Fate brought Mieke and Andrea together in Grade 8 when Andrea was acting out in class and the teacher thought it was a good idea to sit her beside the goodie miss two shoes, Mieke. The intention was for Mieke to rub off on Andrea but little did Ms. Durloo know that she has just joined together an epic force that was about to go into high school together. The two shared a love of summer runs while listening to Sugar Ray on Andrea's walkman and chocolate. This eventually turned into a fascination with France but more importantly champagne. Feel free to strike up a conversation with Mieke about her house-keeping technique when dealing with bugs or her thoughts on birds, particularly pigeons. Mieke lives in a newly renovated house in Fontainebleau, France with her lovely husband, Romain.
Groomsman
The two met when Tim was working at RIM for a co-op term and Tyler was at school and involved with MLSB. Tim was ahead of the game, always with a fluid date of birth and a place of origin (depending on the situation, he is either from Canada, Australia, or the Cayman islands). They became closer friends when they found themselves working at Blackberry, living together at Peppler, and then at the 589 with its legendary parties and everything was FTB. On top of camping and Coachella experiences, the two were instrumental in developing vernacular that remains in use among close friends today. Strike up a conversation with Tim by asking him what a Dodan is or where to find the Solomon Chamber. Tim lives near a scrapyard in Toronto with his lovely girlfriend, Charlotte, and their pup Soca.
Bridesmaid
Hailey and Andrea went to the same middle school, however, Hailey was considered a "Frenchie" being in French Immersion, and Andrea was on the English side. Mingling between these groups was frowned upon, so high school was when these two really hit it off. An infamous time of their friendship was on the 5eh girl group tour of Europe. At a point of the trip, there were concerns that Hailey would never see again but thanks to gentle hands this was not the case. Afterward recovering, the two aka "wild ones" shared memories of late night adventures including Vespa safe ride homes. Feel free to ask Hailey about these incidents, or challenge her to an arm wrestling competition. Hailey and her husband, Steve, have two gorgeous children, Theia & Spencer, and recently moved to Petawawa.
Groomsman
Tyler also met Steve during MLSB through the Nick Hultink connection. Tyler and Steve's friendship really blossomed when they found each other living close to one another in Toronto and as single men. Steve took Tyler under his wing, as he always knows what's going on in the city and how to beat the rush particularly how to line bypass at the Porch. Most impressively is Steve's ability to order drink pyramids at 2 Cats (side note, Andrea was fortunate enough to experience this phenomenon). Tyler and Steve have shared too many memories to count among boys' weekends, pool parties and condo predrinks. The only thing Steve likes to talk about is Croatia but try to ask him about turtle necks. Steve currently lives in Cityplace, which he has declared the best neighbourhood in Toronto.
Bridesmaid
Kristina and Andrea met while grinding it out at good old Labatt. Their friendship could have started a year earlier, when Kristina tried to chat to Andrea at the annual conference, but Andrea does not even remember this encounter. However, when Kristina was moved to the Toronto office a year later, the two bonded over trying to get fit through Kayla Itines' workout program. However, this quickly turned into spending time in the sauna and drinking too much wine on a work night. Feel free to open a conversation with Kristina about her favourite birthday routine or her cottage sleep accomplishments. Kristina is living her best life in downtown Toronto and will be herding the sheep as MC during the wedding.
Groomsman
Only separated by 17 months in age, Andrea and Greg have spent most of their lives together. It was a rocky start when Greg was brought home from the hospital and Andrea decided that she did not want a little brother, and hid him "lightly" under a pillow. But Greg survived, as well as the multiple years under Andrea's reign as the oldest child and at Uncle Dave's ski camp. Despite this, he has surprisingly grown into a successful man. It is a hot debate who is the smartest of the siblings, but Greg is a close contender as a Naval Architect. Feel free to ask Greg about submarines and how he prefers to spike his coffee on holidays. Greg loves to play rock paper scissors, so please challenge him to a game at the wedding! Greg lives in Vancouver with his spunky and special rescue dog, Hunter.
Parents of the Bride
These two are responsible for bringing Andrea into this world and she is said to be a mix of both her parents. The sweet, caring nature of her mother and the original party goblin of her father. They taught her everything she knows from how to correctly pronounce words (is it crowns or crayons?) to always making others feel welcome. Feel free to ask Sharon about the time she experimented with dog medicine or the annual pilgrimage to Wounded Knee. Strike up a conversation with Doug about his pie to whipped cream ratio or the infamous rosé incident of 2017. Also keep an eye out for these two on the dance floor! Sharon and Doug live in Guelph and as much as they wish their three children were closer to them, they do have the family dogs, Molly and Maddy, otherwise known as the fur demons.
Parents of the Groom
Annette and Barry are the reason Tyler is on the earth today. Growing up, Tyler's parents regularly took the family on trips to the Caribbean and Florida along with road trips to Myrtle Beach, where Tyler fondly remembers listening to the Forrest Gump soundtrack over and over again. A few notable moments for Tyler growing up were when his mom refused to let Tyler be left-handed, and promptly taught him to write with his right hand, which explains his penmanship. Tyler also remembers biking alongside his Dad on his runs or bike rides. For years, these two have shared a love of cars, and Tyler regularly tries to convince his parents to let him drive their Range Rover. Annette and Barry have lived in Oakville for many years, and have recently befriended the local squirrel population.
Reader at the Ceremony
Amy is the younger of the Maynard siblings, and is lucky to remain a part of the family after being asked to be bought by a stranger on a beach when she was 6 months old. Not a rite of passage but an honest mistake, Tyler vividly remembers karate kicking Amy in the face as a kid. Beyond these transgressions, Amy grew up to be a thoughtful and successful woman, graduating from Guelph University and becoming a Youth Probation Officer. Feel free to open a conversation up with Amy about the infamous Pepperdine University incident, her recent discovery of coconut cream pie, or real crime dramas. Amy married her husband Kevin last year after being together for over nine years, and the two currently reside in Milton. They recently brought home the cutest Mini Labradoodle named Hudson.
Reader at the Ceremony
As the youngest of the Boyle siblings, Justin grew up with five years between him and his big sis. As a baby, Justin spent hours in the pots and pans cupboard, and would be entertained by placing a bowl of grapes in front of him, which he would painstakingly peel the skin off each one. All very strange but it won't take you long to understand why Justin is referred to as "Mini Doug." After all, his middle name is Douglas. Feel free to ask Justin to recall the time he became Ping or when he went out on the town in Whistler with complete strangers, prompting a search and rescue by Mama Boyle. Justin got married last year to Nicole, and the two lovebirds recently bought their first house in Carleton Place, which they share with their dogs, Sasha and Buck, and their cat, Binx.
Best Doggo / Honorary Ring Bearer
If you know anyone who is willing to do the 2 day 19 hour drive from Seattle to Toronto, with no breaks, to bring our sweet pupperino to the wedding, please reach out. In lieu of this, our lovely boy will be holidaying with his longterm girlfriend, Mandy. Yes, someone did in fact name their dog, Mandy. If Bobes could grace us with his fur presence, he would be carrying the rings down the aisle, only to jump on everyone in-between and bottom feed for food, especially chicken bones.
