What is the best way to get to the Friday Harbor?

Option 1: Ferry from Anacortes There are a number of daily ferries from Anacortes to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island: - 8:40am-9:50am - 10:30am-11:40am - 1:35pm-2:45pm - 4:20pm-5:50pm - 5:35pm-7:05pm - 8:15pm-9:45pm - on Fridays only: 10pm-11:25pm NOTE: If planning to arrive to the island on Saturday, the 10:30am ferry should get you there in time for the ceremony! See the schedule: https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetailbyroute.aspx?route=ana-sj If you plan to take a vehicle on to the ferry to San Juan Island, it is strongly recommended that you make a reservation ahead of time. Reservations become available on 02/10/2026. You can choose to rent a car at the airport in Seattle and take it onto the island or leave it parked at the ferry terminal in Anacortes. You will not necessarily need a car on the island; a trolley will take you to the ceremony site on Saturday. When should we arrive to Friday Harbor?

See the ferry schedule for more information. If possible, arriving on Friday would allow you to join us for a welcome dinner! If arriving on Saturday, the 10:30am ferry would likely get you there in time for the ceremony.

What do we do if the ferry is full?
Answer
Many of the vehicle reservations for Friday ferries are full at this time. Please do not worry, though! More reservation slots will open 1 month and 1 week before the departure date. HOWEVER, please note that you really will not need a vehicle on the island. Therefore, you can leave a vehicle at the Anacortes ferry terminal parking and easily walk onto the ferry of your choice.

Cocktail attire! Please also be sure to bring a jacket in case it is windy.
