Our story starts in high school, when we shared the same bus home. Corrin, who was used to sitting with Willow and Lian on her ride home, found that squeezing three students, plus backpacks packed with textbooks and more, into one bus seat wouldn't work in high school any more. Glancing around for a nearby seat, her eyes landed on Tyler, who luckily had an open spot next to him (typically saved for Nick, his friend who wasn't riding the bus that day). Corrin said "Hi Tyler! Do you mind if I sit here?" and he said "Yeah, sure!" Striking up a conversation with "How are you?", we learned we had similar interests, and sitting together to chat on the ride home became a habit as we became friends. As we grew closer, Nick sensed Tyler's feelings for Corrin and offered his seat to let us sit together and it was a matter of time until we started dating.

In May of 2019, we planned our dream trip to Japan together with Willow - and Tyler planned his own surprise. Deciding he wanted to propose, Tyler packed the ring secretly in his backpack and managed to get it through security without Corrin's knowledge. We made our way to a beautiful garden called Shirotori in Nagoya which Tyler had suggested (all part of his plan), and walked around enjoying the wildlife and nature. Leaving Willow to sit and draw, we wandered off together to explore the bamboo forest and river paths. At a river crossing with a small waterfall in the background, we stopped for pictures. Under the pretense of getting a sip of water, Tyler pulled out the hidden ring and proposed, telling Corrin that the title "girlfriend" couldn't convey how much she meant to him anymore. We retrieved Willow (realizing later her kind sacrifice as she sat waiting for us in mosquito territory!) and shared the news with her as we enjoyed the rest of the gardens. Afterwards, we excitedly decided to make a trip to conveyor belt sushi for lunch to celebrate the engagement.
