We spend most of our time on the East side of Portland. Some fun, walkable neighborhoods with GREAT food/drink options are: Hawthorne, Sellwood, Eastmoreland, Westmoreland, Ladd's Addition, & Woodstock.
We have been to and love: Bamboo Sushi and Nicoletta's Table & Marketplace! Some other restaurants nearby that we haven't tried but we hear good things about are: Domaine Serene Wine Lounge, Mann's on the Lake, Five Spice Seafood & Wine bar. Walkable to the welcome party are also pizza places and tacos.
Good beer with YUMMY pizza
If anyone is still in town on 7/16/25, the Timbers play at home at 7:30pm. https://seatgeek.com/portland-timbers-tickets/mls/2025-07-16-7-30-pm/17316550?quantity=2
Our favorite happy hour: $1 fresh oysters 5pm-6pm every day!! With wine pairings.
These games are fun and usually HILARIOUS. Semi-professional baseball with a very saucy mascot and theme nights at the stadium. If anyone is in town before/after the wedding, there are games on Thursday and Sunday nights!
Not really an attraction lol but there is a big mall VERY close to the hotel/venue if needed. And there is NO SALES TAX in the state of Oregon!
Hiking in/near the city: Forest Park has miles and miles of hikes with views of the city of Portland There's also AMAZING hiking within 45min drive of Portland, but this is closer.
SUNDAY 9:30am-2pm
Largest independent book store in the U.S. It covers an entire city block and has food, drinks, etc.). MUST see for book lovers.
Outdoor arts & crafts market at the Willamette River waterfront. This is also the location for Portland's major race events. This is a major city market. A smaller, more local farmer's market closer to the hotel/venue is for Milwaukie, OR on Sunday.
Around 50min outside of Portland, the Columbia River Gorge area is absolutely beautiful and has lots of hikes and waterfalls to explore. We had our engagement photos taken near Cascade Locks, OR, but the whole area (Oregon and Washington sides) are worth checking out!
We ventured out here in July 2024 for our "Fueled by fine wine" 10K, and the wine was indeed very fine! We had a great time exploring a few of the wineries with tastings, and there are multiple wineries within 10min drives of each other. About 45min drive from Portland, you can easily spend the day taking in the views and the wine. ***if you are thinking about a winery trip day, let Carolyn know because there could be a setup for a group excursion***
If you're taking a couple extra days to venture around the PNW, some popular spots are Olympic National Park/Forest (WA), Mount Ranier (WA), Mount Hood National Park (OR), Silver Falls State Park (OR), and the Oregon Coast: Cannon Beach and/or Seaside
