Tyler and Calista met their sophomore year at Roger Williams on a forced (and somewhat awkward) double study-date with mutual friends. Little did they know, that would be the beginning of their amazing journey together.
After months of carefully concealed proposal preparation, Tyler faced a major dilemma; the United States was on the verge of shutting down due to COVID-19. His plan in shambles (strict quarantine rules didn't allow for a day celebrating Calista's birthday with a scenic morning walk, cooking lessons with a highly acclaimed chef, a romantic dinner, and a sunset proposal on the beach), Tyler called an audible. Two weeks before the original plan was to take place and under the guise of "getting their minds off the pandemic," Tyler convinced Calista to take a drive to Maine. The beach in March, he reasoned, was an excellent place for a walk. Upon arrival, sheer cold and intense winds made it clear to Tyler that he had a very limited window to pull off a proposal. After walking up and down the beach (quickly), he got to the heart of the matter. Buffeted by the early spring chill of the Atlantic breeze, with their dog, Auri, looking on, Tyler asked Calista to spend the rest of their lives together.
