I went to Akron, and he went to Kent. Yes our colleges were rivals, lol! However, that didn't stop us! One of my friends went to Kent and it was her birthday weekend. I almost did not go because I was tired and not feeling the best, but I did go. I am SOOOOOO glad I did because otherwise I wouldn't have met my other half and I would not be telling this story of how we met. Okay, back to how we met.... A group of my friends and I went to different house parties celebrating our friends bday! When we got to the second house, we were dancing having a good time! I must have been at the right place at the right time:) (I know usually the saying goes: wrong place at the wrong time, but this saying wasn't true on this night!) As we were all dancing, a handsome/cute guy (Tyler) came up to me and took my hand to dance. I was not the type to dance with random guys who came up to me, but there was something different about this guy (Tyler). We kept dancing, laughing and talking! It was time to go, so one of my friends got his number for me and we texted all night long about lots of things! Before he said goodnight to go to bed, he was asking me if we made it back safe. I remember thinking, this guy just met me and he is asking me if we were safe--wow what a GOOD guy:) (Ty is still very kind and caring!) I didn't want to stop talking to Ty and Ty didn't want to stop talking to me either:), so the talking didn't stop that night. Our endless conversations continued on daily for 2 months after that night. I came to visit him for St. Patty's day. We continued to talk on the phone and I visited him at Kent. On April 29th, 2011 Ty asked me to be his girlfriend:). On December 24th, 2018 I got the most wonderful romantic surprise ever, Tyler asked me to marry him:)! Who would have thought a random college party & him grabbing my hand, would lead to a wonderful journey that allowed me to find my rock, soulmate, best friend, better half and now my fiance----almost husband:)!
