The Schedule page provides an overview of events throughout the weekend, including instructions for where to meet, when, what to bring, etc. Unless otherwise noted on the Guest Lists page, you’re invited to attend any of the planned activities. You’re also welcome to explore on your own—there’s plenty to see and do in the park and surrounding area.
Several events on our schedule have limited capacity: (1) Friday Dinner; (2) Friday Game Night; and (3) Sunday Wedding Ceremony. Guest lists for those events are posted on the Guest Lists page of this website. Please review that page to confirm which of these events you’re invited to attend. If your name appears, you’re welcome to join. If not, please understand that the space limitations required us to limit attendance for those events.
Parking permits are required for any vehicle parked in the park for more than five minutes, and parking can be limited. While we’ve reserved some spaces in advance, we’re not able to provide reserved parking for every event. Please review the Parking page to confirm where you should park each day of the wedding weekend. In general, we recommend carpooling and/or arriving early as much as possible.
Most weekend activities—including the Wedding Ceremony and Reception Dinner—will take place in and around Elkmont Campground. All campsites are accessible by car. Spence Cabin (ceremony venue) is less than 100 yards from parking. The Appalachian Clubhouse (reception venue) is less than 200 yards from Spence Cabin. Terrain in these areas is primarily flat, with smooth gravel or packed dirt walkways. The only potentially challenging section is a short, uneven earthen staircase leading to the ceremony site at Spence Cabin. Volunteers will be available to assist guests who would like support navigating this area.
Please dress with the weather in mind—rain, heat, and cool evenings are all possible in the Smokies. Beyond that, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and ready to celebrate. For the Ceremony and Reception, we’re calling the vibe “woodland wedding casual.” Have a sundress you’ve been waiting to wear? Perfect. A snazzy button-up? Love it. A whimsical fairycore moment? Even better. Choose something that feels joyful, comfortable, and forest-appropriate.
Outside of a few weekend events (noted on the Schedule page), guests are responsible for their own food. If you’re camping, you’ll also need to bring your own tent and gear (see the Camping page for details). Apart from that, we recommend bringing the following. Basics: Food, water, shelter. Weather & Elements: Rain gear, bug repellent, sunscreen. Games & Activities: Card games, board games, yard games, conversation starters, etc. Comfort: Camping chair, picnic blanket, handheld fan, etc. Special Request: Firewood — please bring 1–2 bundles for each day you’re visiting to help keep the campfires going. The park only allows pre-treated firewood, so bundles must be purchased from a hardware or grocery store. BYOB: We will not be providing alcohol. If you’d like to enjoy a drink, please bring your own.
Cell service in the park can be limited or unavailable. We recommend downloading maps, parking assignments, and campsite details—or taking screenshots in advance. Doing so will make navigating the weekend much easier.
We know this is a lot of information, and we appreciate you taking the time to review it. If you have questions, notice any discrepancies, or need clarification, please reach out before Thursday, May 14th. After that date, we’ll be in the park with limited access to email and cell service.
