We met in math class, of all places! I remember sitting there thinking “who is this guy and why is he so quiet”. I was jealous of how good he was at math, too. One day after talking here and there I asked him how old he was and his initial response was “It doesn’t matter” but then he turned on the charm a little while later by showing me his calculator with the number 17 on it. 😂 Eventually, a little over a year later, we parted ways. We had kept in touch here and there over time but nothing serious, nothing long term. Which brings us here. In August of 2022 we started talking again when I moved back to Randolph, one night I told Tyler I was feeling well and before I knew it he was outside with ginger ale for me, without me asking.. actually I told him not to go buy anything for me because I didn’t want to bother him. We hung out a while that night on the librarY steps reminiscing and joking. We kept talking after that which lead to hanging out and hanging out which then lead to us going steady. At first it was like time had never passed and we had picked up where we left off. Obviously a lot had changed, for the better, and we had the opportunity to relearn each other and we realized this is what we wanted. We wanted to grow together and build together. So here we are traveling this crazy journey of life together. It’s been an interesting, fun and rewarding ride!
We attended Inkcarceration (a music festival) in July of 2024. Over the weekend we listened to numerous bands, had a lot of laughs and met some awesome people. On the last night my favorite band, Shinedown, was set to play last. As they come on and are playing their set I’m belting out the lyrics and dancing. Tyler, wasn’t as interested in the show (or so I thought), I kept picking on him telling him to have some fun. Little did I know he was waiting for his opportunity. Finally, my favorite song by Shinedown was being played. As they performed “Second Chance” and got to they start singing the line “Here is my chance, this is my chance” I see Tyler move out of the corner of my eye, as I turn my head slowly I see him one on knee holding up the ring. He asked me to marry him. I instantly started to cry and of course I said yes! He couldn’t have planned it any better, truly!
