Our story began in fall of 2019 at Coastal Carolina University, thanks to a mutual friend who brought us together at just the right time. What started as a chance meeting turned into countless conversations, shared laughter, and a love we never expected but are forever grateful for.
Tyler called Alexandra and asked her out on a proper date, setting the tone from the very beginning. He took her to Rivertown Bistro in downtown Conway, a top restaurant in their college town. Alexandra was immediately impressed not just by the restaurant, but by the thought Tyler put into the evening. Wanting to make the night extra special, Tyler stepped far outside his comfort zone and ordered sushi, even though he absolutely hates it. Alexandra, on the other hand, loves it, and he was determined to impress her. That determination led him to take a bold bite loaded with wasabi. What followed was laughter, tears, and gasps for air, creating a moment neither of them would ever forget. The night perfectly captured the start of their relationship. Tyler’s willingness to do anything to make Alexandra smile, Alexandra’s laughter filling the room, and a shared memory that would become one of their favorite stories to tell. From that first date on, the rest was history.
Tyler planned a proposal that far exceeded Alexandra’s expectations. Alexandra thought she was heading to her sister’s birthday dinner in downtown Charleston, but in reality, Tyler had something much bigger planned. Weeks earlier, he had casually pointed out the famous Philadelphia Alley while they were walking downtown, planting the seed without giving anything away. On the night of the “birthday dinner,” Tyler made sure they arrived a few minutes early and suggested a quick walk to see Philadelphia Alley. Alexandra was hesitant at first, but eventually agreed. That’s when Tyler dropped to one knee, Alexandra was completely shocked. Moments after she said yes, both Tyler and Alexandra’s families jumped out to surprise her, having secretly coordinated to be there right after the proposal. As engagement photos followed, Alexandra jokingly asked for reassurance that there were no more surprises left. But Tyler wasn’t done yet. They headed to Vendue, the first rooftop bar in Charleston where Tyler and Alexandra had spent many nights during their first few years in the city. There friends were waiting to surprise Alexandra, and everyone celebrated the newly engaged couple together! Ending the night exactly where so many of their Charleston memories began.
