I recommend blocking off an entire day if you choose to take The Road to Hana. Start early and be sure to check out some of our favorite stops along the way: - Take a dip in one of the MANY waterfalls along the road - Waianapanapa State Park, also known as black sand beach, is a great spot to stop and explore! The views are incredible! You will need to make reservation ahead of time, so keep that in mind. - Koki Beach - our favorite beach on Maui. It is tucked away right past Hana town. - Honomanu is a beautiful beach to check out on your way. You will need four wheel drive to make it to the beach. - Pipiwai Trail is a gorgeous four mile hike round trip, it gets pretty crowded so we recommend doing this as early as possible. It is located towards the end of the Road to Hana. Please be respectful to local drivers and pull to the side when needed during your drive.
This is a beautiful hike near Waiehu. Its a four mile hike that takes you through the valley. You reach close to 2,000ft elevation, so keep in mind to bring plenty of water. Its a popular hike so we recommend to get there between 7-8am to secure parking.
Big Beach is located on the south side of the island. This is the biggest beach on Maui, and the views are absolutely stunning. It can get crowded, but there is a lot of parking! If you're feeling frisky, take a walk over to little beach and get naked at the nude beach.
This is one of our favorite spots to grab food & sushi. Great service, great food, great environment. This is a BYOB location, so if you want drinks you will need to bring your own!
You cant go wrong at Monkeypod kitchen. They have one on the South and West side. Well worth the try.
If you go here, we recommend the seafood curry! Please keep in mind they book out months in advanced so make your reservations now!
