Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding is formal. Ladies, please wear midi or floor length dresses. Spring patterns and colors welcome. Men, please wear suits with a tie or bow tie. Women are asked to avoid shades of white, cream or ivory in their dresses. We also recommend a block heel or flat as there are outdoor portions of the event.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive fifteen minutes early (5:15pm) to the ceremony to ensure you have time to get settled and find a seat.

Will transportation be provided between hotels and the venue?

Answer

Yes, we will have buses to transport guests from the Hyatt, Hilton and the Holiday Inn to the venue. The buses will leave promptly at 4:45pm to ensure timely arrive to the ceremony. The buses will also be available to transport guests back to their hotels following the reception.

Are kids welcome?

We respectfully request no children at the ceremony or reception, allowing all of our guests to enjoy an adults-only evening.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all our guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please see the travel page on our website for recommendations. We strongly advise that you book your hotel promptly as Kent Island has multiple wedding venues with many weddings each weekend. Contact your desired hotel directly for additional availability if our block is full.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We have hired photographers that will capture the ceremony and request you keep your phones and personal cameras away at this time to avoid obstructing their shots. We welcome all photos and videos during the cocktail hour and reception!

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please see the schedule page on our website for the list of events. Following the reception, we will have an after party at The Jetty for those wishing to continue their evening. We will be hosting a brunch on Sunday at The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.

Is the event outdoors?

Answer

Elements of our day are both indoors and outdoors. Our intent is to hold the ceremony outdoors with an outdoor option for cocktails. Please bring a wrap, as needed, and sunglasses as we will be facing the sun as it sets across the Chesapeake Bay. The ceremony will be held indoors if the weather is unfavorable. Dinner and dancing will be indoors.
