How They Met

May 5, 2015

As her sophomore year finals were approaching, Meg was reading an article about a woman who used Tinder to pick her outfits for a week. Looking for something to take her mind off of her impending tests, she decided to test this woman's experiment herself. After a week of relatively uneventful outfit recommendations, Meg asked The Men of Western New York their opinions on overalls. Tyler was the only one to message back in their favor, and after a few days of texting, and one night of Tyler staying up all night talking to Meg while she studied (a night which earned her the permanent nickname 'Zombie Girl'), the two decided to meet for the first time in person at Julie's restaurant. Meg wore a dress, Tyler wore a tie, and the rest is history. ❤

The Second Chance

June 9, 2018

6 months after Tyler and Meg met, Meg was sure that they weren't ment to be. Several big fights and the challenges of being young, and far away from each other ended their brief romance. After losing touch for about a year, Meg and Tyler finally made up, and decided that even though they didn't work as a couple, they wanted each other as friends. Nearly 2 years later, Meg took Tyler out to dinner to celebrate his enlistment in the Navy. Not wanting to end the night when dinner was over, Meg invited Tyler to stay and talk for a while, and the two ended up falling asleep holding hands on Meg's couch. It was obvious to both that their friendship had grown to something more, and so the pair decided to try out a relationship one more time, even though Tyler was shipping out to boot camp in less than 4 months. 4 months isn't a lot of time, but they packed it with road trips, concerts, and one whirlwind week in which they celebrated all of the holidays Tyler would miss in boot camp. By the time he left, the couple was sure that they had started their forever. ❤

The Proposal

June 9, 2019

Several months after Tyler joined the Navy, during one of Meg's first visits, she joked that she would marry Tyler with a Ring Pop if he asked. From then on, the Ring Pop proposal became a favorite inside joke between the pair until June 9, one year after they started dating a second time, Tyler slipped a Ring Pop into Meg's anniversary present. When she found it in the bottom of the bag, she was afraid it was a joke, but to her delight, Tyler got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Meg still regards that day as the happiest of her life. ❤
