We first met 16 years ago at Kirkland Junior High. We had a few classes together throughout our junior high years, and became fast friends. We remained in the same friend circle at Lake Washington High School, but lost touch when we went to colleges in different states. In the Spring of 2016, Tyler reached out over Facebook to catch up. A few weeks later, our friend Kramer, also from junior high and high school, helped by being Tyler's wingman and going on a frozen yogurt "date" with us in Kirkland. Shortly after that, we went on our first official date, without a third wheel. We spent the Summer together, and started officially dating early that Fall. In May of 2017, we moved in together and started planning for the future. For Christmas that year, we had talked about going away together somewhere as our gift to each other. Time got away from us, but then Tyler spearheaded a plan to stay the night at Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie. While Kelsey had suspicions that Tyler might propose then, she wasn't sure since the trip had been a Christmas gift for each other. On February 10th, we went to Salish Lodge. After dinner, Kelsey thought the night was over, and we headed back to the hotel room. When we opened the door, there were roses and candles everywhere. Long story short, Tyler got down on one knee and asked Kelsey to marry him. Without hesitation, she said, "Of course I will marry you!". We can't wait to celebrate with everyone almost exactly a year after our engagement!
