How We Met - HIS STORY

Best First Date I Ever Had

Adree and I met for the first time in June 2019. I had just finished training for my job at Skywest Airlines, and I was traveling a lot. I lived in Salt Lake City as well as Adree, and I was having a hard time meeting people in conventional ways, so I took to online dating. Adree had also taken to online dating at this time and we eventually matched. At first I did not message her because I got her contact mixed up with someone else. Almost blew it right there! But, I figured it out, and we started messaging. We talked a lot over messaging, and after a couple of weeks we decided to meet for a first date. We met at a TCBY in Sugar House, Utah and had a really amazing conversation, after which I did not want the date to end, so I invited Adree to continue the date at a local bowling alley. She was happy about the invitation, but she was skeptical about riding with me in my car. She teasingly questioned me if I was a serial killer, warning me that she would "kickbox" me if I tried anything. We had a good laugh and went bowling and mini golfing. A few hours later, when our first date had concluded, I knew that I had met someone very special. It was the best first date I had ever had. We have been dating ever since, and have had many amazing, fun adventures together, getting to know each other and our families. In December 2019, just before Christmas, I asked Adree to marry me while I was flying us in a small plane over her favorite temple: the Payson Utah Temple. She said "yes"!!

How We Met - HER STORY

June 12, 2019

I met Tylar via a dating app called "Mutual." Online dating was just one of those things I thought, "Meh, why not?" because, I mean, it's the 21st Century and how else is one supposed to meet eligible men in this day-in-age when they're a single parent that teaches school full time? Tylar and I began texting each other June 1st, or well, I texted him, and he took three days to text back. I was honestly about to write him off when he finally asked me to go on a date... a whole week from then! I was seriously like, "Who is this guy? Is he really even that interested in me that he'd ask me on a date a week from now?" Anyway, a week went by (actually 8 days, but who's counting?) and we finally met for the first time in person at a TCBY because Tylar was thoughtful and considerate of my intolerance to dairy. He wanted ice cream, but he settled for frozen yogurt just for me. When I pulled up to the TCBY parking lot, there was this handsome, dark haired, dark eyed stranger waiting for me. He had a warm, kind, killer smile that made my heart skip a beat. I guess you could call it love at first sight. Only then we sat down to frozen yogurt, and this dashing guy put me through the wringer with questions - like SO many deep, personal questions, that I was taken off-guard and had no idea how to respond. I mean, I was so shy around him that I literally couldn't look him in the eye for the whole hour long conversation that followed (he still likes to tease me about this to this day). Long story short, I somehow remained witty and charming enough to warrant a full evening of activities with Tylar. It actually started to feel natural between us - we talked about everything under the sun and it felt like we'd known each other our whole lives. Or, maybe, like all the moments in our lives had led us up to THIS moment - where we'd meet each other and we'd both just feel it was "meant to be". Whichever it was, neither of us wanted the night to end. And we've been together ever since.

For all the days along the way
