Not gonna lie, we really did meet on Tinder. Who swiped right first? No one really knows (or can remember). He did message me first, though. It was something along the lines of "you play Xbox?! What games do you play?!" A few weeks later, he came and sat in my section at the restaurant I worked at (he ordered pork chops). I wrote on his receipt that I thought he was cute (I'm so smooth, right?) The next day we went to iHop after my shift. Then the next day, we went and drove around and got milkshakes. The rest is history, who can say no to iHop and milkshakes?
Devin had set up a date for us to "go do something fun" and he decided on Painting with a Twist. I liked the idea because, well, I like to paint and I am good at it. He, however, is not. We went to the studio and were following the instructors directions, nothing out of the ordinary. There was a man walking around and taking pictures. I thought nothing of it because the instructor had made the comment that this man comes by all the time to take pictures for their Facebook page. The time slot at Painting with a Twist is 2 hours. We were about an hour in, and only had one step left to do in our painting. The instructor said we would play a game to kill a little time. He was explaining the rules of the game (putting a paper plate on your head, while painting a scene- the best painting wins). He chose Devin and I to go first so we got onto the stage. Now, I am not a competitive person, but Devin is the opposite and lives to dominate everyone at everything. However, painting is the one thing that I know I can beat him at. So I was so focused on this painting that the instructor was describing to me. I knew I would win this and get ultimate bragging rights for the rest of my life that I beat Devin at something. The time is up and I look at my painting, full of confidence knowing that I have done the impossible, beat him. I turn around to see what painting he came up with, only to find that there was no painting at all. Instead, he was on his knee with the ring and a canvas that said "Will you marry me?" So I'm still not sure who won.
