HOW WE MET

2011

I initially met Greg when I was visiting my sister at college, they both attended Stevens Point. Fast forward to 2 years later, we both attended a mutual friends birthday party in Milwaukee and reconnected. I guess you could say it was God's timing. He had just moved to Baraboo, WI (outside of Wisconsin Dells) and I had just moved back to Appleton, WI. After reconnecting in June of 2013, we talked nonstop until August when I went to hang out with him in the Dells. That weekend, August 9th, 2013, was still one of the best weekends of my life! We had so much fun, we did all the touristy things in the Dells as well as small town dive bar hoppin. We had no intentions of anything going in, just went with the flow. Maybe that's why it worked so well. I knew after that weekend I always wanted to be around him. His sense of humor is unmatched, and his kindness to me and everyone he encounters had me. Plus, before I met him my goal was to move to Milwaukee, where he is from, so after almost a year of "long distance" dating, (really only and hour and a half) we both moved to Milwaukee and the rest is history!

G’s How We Met

So the first night I can absolutely be sure I was introduced to Kim was June 22, 2013. It was the night before my 25th birthday. The plan was to meet up with a good friend of mines whose birthday was that day. I walk into his apartment and the first thing that I hear is a lady I didnt know welcoming me in like we had known each other for years. You would have thought she lived there the way she ushered me in and into the kitchen for a drink! A little too much energy, but I kinda like her, whatever its my birthday I’ll get her name later. Turns out her name is Kim, and she is Kelly’s sister. Oh, I think I may have met her before in Stevens Point. Fast forward later into the night, we are celebrating the conjoined birthdays and as the night goes on I end up spending the better portion of the night side by side making small talk with Kelly’s sister... super cool, maybe a little flirting but mostly just friendly conversation that before we knew it had dominated the night. A couple of months later we connected through the then booming app Snapchat. We exhanged funny pictures and messages for about a week before it was clear we should hang out face to face. Luckily for us a friend of hers would be in the neighboring town that weekend so she could stop in to hang out with me before heading over to the Dells to meet with her friend. A stop in visit turned into a weekend, a weekend turned into a lifetime!

HOW HE PROPOSED

November 2019

It was a Saturday and I was working an event that ran late. I was supposed to be done around 9pm and I didn’t get home until 11 pm, I was exhausted! When I walked in, Greg had some wine out and poured me a glass to relax and unwind. We were supposed to have an “us” night but since I got done so late we decided to cut that time in half, hang out and have some wine before we ventured out to meet up our friends. Greg had set up a custom trivia game, crafted up personal trivia questions all about him and our friends/family. Everyone kept saying, “how did you not know!?” Well, we love game nights and do trivia from time to time so I didn’t suspect anything. The questions were hilarious, but eventually the final question was “Will you marry me?” It was super sweet and intimate. And it was just us, which is what I appreciated most. Afterwords, we went out to Bayview to meet up with some friends. Unbeknowest to me, one of my best gfs was in town so I was able to celebrate with those close to me! I had no idea she was in town and she had no idea he was proposing! It just worked out that weekend, thank God. (Shout out to my girl Visa!) We drank champagne until Sunday and celebrated with more friends at brunch the next day as well. Greg did a great job, it was super thoughful and simple and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

For all the days along the way
