He proposed on December 11th, 2021, in Myrtle Beach, SC surrounded by friends. We had planned to hand out gifts to our friends, dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Prior to handing out the “gifts” to our friends, he told me he had a gift for me. He then took out a ring box and said,” It's not what you think it is,” and when he opened the box, it was a ring pop. After he put it on my finger, I turned around to show it to our friends.   Little did I know, as I was laughing about the ring pop with friends with my back turned to him, he had gotten down on one knee. When I turned around to continue handing out our gifts, he asked was the ring pop good enough, and then asked”Will you take this one instead?” As he put the real ring on my finger, I said Yes!! 

We first met when I was a nurse at Duke Hospital in 2008. I then left Duke to pursue my Nurse Practitioner and doctorate degree a few years later. When I returned in 2017, we crossed paths again and have been together ever since.  I remember the exact date of the first facebook message on June 29th 2016. We made it official May 25th 2018 after I met his mother for the first time.
