Corona

not the beer...

Our first priority is that all our family and friends remain safe and healthy. While we wish we could celebrate with everyone in person, we don't feel it is safe to do so at this uncertain time and have instead made the difficult decision to modify our original wedding plans and proceed with a more intimate wedding. While we're excited for this next chapter ahead, we are sad we cannot come together as a larger group. Everyone who we can no longer have with us in St. Louis is encouraged to join the celebration virtually (click the "Events" tab above and you can join from there). We hope everyone understands and we await the day we can all be together again safely.

How We Met

#thanksbumble

July 2016: We met on Bumble*, the online dating app. After chatting online for a few weeks, we decided to meet up for drinks on a Saturday night in San Francisco. The second date was four days later and this was the true test – a meal out together. After ordering (and polishing off) half of the menu, Tyler was sure he had a future eating partner in Adira. The third date was the following Saturday, exactly a week after we first met. Tyler arranged a game of basketball at a park near his apartment in the afternoon with the hopes of cooking Adira dinner at home later in the evening. His plan worked and Adira was sure she had a future athlete and chef in Tyler. As they say, the rest is history! * According to Adira we met on Bumble. According to Tyler we met on The League. The world may never know.

The Proposal

california dreaming

March 2020: La Jolla, an oceanside town outside of San Diego, has long been a favorite city of both Tyler and Adira independently. Tyler has spent over 10 years going to an annual tennis tournament in La Jolla. With his accommodations literally on beach, it's always been a spot he had happy memories of. Adira first visited La Jolla when in elementary school on a family trip to California. Adira fell in love with the Pacific Ocean and couldn't understand why everyone wouldn't want to live there. On their fourth trip to La Jolla as a couple, Tyler proposed to Adira while walking on the beach at sunset. A+T feel very lucky to have squeezed in this happy moment in a favorite place just a week before the world shutdown due to the pandemic.
