Their story began in junior year of high school, in a chemistry class where they sat across the room from one another, unaware of what life had planned. After missing two weeks of the semester while recovering from surgery, Brandon returned to school feeling out of place among his original group. That’s when Tyara, who he didn’t yet know would become the love of his life, invited him to sit with her group. Through her kind gesture, Brandon found himself surrounded by new and familiar faces, and soon realized just how close he and Tyara had always been to crossing paths. They shared many of the same friend groups, took several of the same classes, and had even lived in nearby neighborhoods. Their friendship formed quickly, like a chain reaction starting with small sparks and steadily building into something stronger. They spent countless hours talking in class, hanging out after school, and texting late into the night. But it wasn’t until December 31, 2015, at 11:59 PM, that Brandon found the courage to ask the question: “Will you be my girlfriend?” Caught off guard and momentarily speechless, Tyara paused then, with excitement, replied, “Yes!” What began in a chemistry classroom continued to grow over the years, leading to a new chapter on October 13, 2024, when that same young man got down on one knee and asked that same woman to be his wife. What started as a spark in a chemistry classroom has grown into a lifelong bond and the reaction is still going.
