Ty and I met briefly at a FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) gathering at UCSB in 2016 but didn't think anything of it. Fast-forward a year or so later and I was at South Coast Deli with my family when saw Ty sitting outside with Deb (his mama bear) eating. I thought I recognized him somehow and kept staring at him trying to figure out how I knew him. Ty and Deb noticed my awkward stares and he proceeded to look me up on the UCSB athletics website, but again neither of us thought anything of it... (we both remember this day even though at the time we didn't actually interact with each other one bit). Fast-forward to summer 2019 Ty followed me on Instagram and I accepted seeing our mutual friends...yet again thinking nothing of it. He posted sweet videos of Nellison all the time and I loved it since I too had an Aussie, Brady. On September 4th, 2019 Ty messaged me on Instagram asking, "Does your aussie hate snuggling too or is mine just broken?" From that point on the rest was history. We exchanged stories of previously meeting (and staring at sandwich shops) and realized how many times we probably crossed paths in our time in Santa Barbara. Within the first few days of talking with each other we knew this was something special. God had interwoven our paths together in completely unexpected ways and four days later Ty had a weekend planned, and I had a flight booked. A month later Brady and I were on our way to go visit Nellie and Ty in New Mexico. The first weekend we spent together felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. The pups became besties and we both already knew this would be a forever thing. Through long-distance, OT school, softball seasons and more, we have been enjoying the ups and downs of life but are so ready to get married and do it all together for a change. We would like to thank you for joining us in our next chapter of life, and cannot wait to be Mr. and Mrs. Heil. God is so good!
